Quality & Development

Quality is more than just a catchword for us and is lived out daily. We are certified to several standards and have seamless quality management.
Of course, international standards such as IFS, HACCP and GMP are likewise part of our quality management system. The quality is monitored from the raw materials to the finished products in our own microbiological and analytic laboratories.

Here at Salzburg Schokolade, we also develop customised individual solutions to suit the customer's wishes. Our national and international partners in trade (private labels), commercial and industrial enterprises profit from the know-how of our extensive experience. Our product development is part of our ISO system.

Sustainability

Fairtrade & UTZ Labels

In addition to the highest quality and the best flavour, at Salzburg Schokolade great emphasis is also placed on social responsibility and sustainable economic practices. For this reason, our chocolate coins as well as other products bear the UTZ or Fairtrade seal.

Salzburg Schokolade uses both sustainability labels and is UTZ and Fairtrade certified.

UTZ is a non-profit organisation which operates one of the largest independent sustainability programmes in the world for cocoa farming (www.utz.org). The goal of UTZ is that producers in the countries of origin produce cocoa under sustainable and efficient conditions, and that natural resources are used wisely and people are treated with respect. To ensure the quality, the cocoa farmers and their plantations are regularly monitored by independent experts.

If you see the FAIRTRADE Program Mark for cocoa, it means that the cocoa has been sourced as Fairtrade. The program guarantees stable prices and long-term trading relations for the farm cooperatives. The farmers and farm workers earn higher prices and wages which are used to fund communal projects. The Fairtrade program also provides standards for democratic organisational structures, the protection of the environment and safe working conditions – which is regularly monitored by independent experts.

Partner

Our domestic partners include renowned Austrian food retailers and wholesalers, as well as bulk consumers such as bakeries and confectioners, the restaurant trade and producers.

In addition, there is close cooperation with Foodnet: a Salzburg network for food and beverage manufacturers for exchanging experiences and know-how.
